The first time I saw photos of the boys at the Orphanage, they meant nothing to me.  I remember thinking about how cute they were and how excited I was to meet them, but they were still little faces.  About a month later, after the trip, I saw things very differently. During our four days spent with the boys, I learned a lot about their culture and who they were.  By playing soccer, having water fights, talking on the playground, painting walls and simply laughing together, we formed friendships that no language barrier could prevent. Through my time at the orphanage, God showed me how beautiful self-less love could be, especially when it caused me to step out of my comfort zone in order to show it.  Before my trip to Honduras, I viewed the orphanage as a charity, another “good cause” that needed my help.  But now I realize that the boys blessed me with their kindness just as much (and perhaps more) than I could ever bless them. Now they are more than faces. They are friends.
